The Annual FVRL Foundation’s Authors & Illustrators Dinner & Silent Auction will be held on October 17, 5:30-9:30 at the Hilton Hotel in Vancouver.

The Foundation invites you to join this fun evening with bestselling author Laura Dave. Tickets are $120 each with a limited number of tickets available for a private reception with the author for $30 per person. Proceeds from the event support library buildings, programs and services. BUY TICKETS HERE from the FVRL Foundation.

Highlights of Board actions include approving an increase in amounts to the 2024-2025 Library budget for honoraria from $1,500 to $5,000 and program supplies from $500 to $2,000. With these additional funds, we can expect to see more programs at CPC Library throughout the year.

Other significant actions include the Revised Bylaws approved at the August Meeting. Individuals may now join by making a donation of any amount as a Supporter/Member, formerly known as Member. And, all Supporter/Members will be encouraged to regularly renew their support. The benefits of former Lifetime Members remain intact. (Article III )

The Bylaws enlarge the Board of the Friends of CPC Library to a minimum of seven members consisting of five officers and committee chairpersons. Terms of office revised to two years and staggered will begin as of October 1, 2024. (Article IV)

The complete Bylaws Rev. 7/18/2024 are posted on the Friends website.

Bookstore Notes ...

Our Bookstore's success as a fund-raiser is thanks to everyone who donates and buys books and to the behind-the-scenes Friends who volunteer about 50 hours/week to keep the store humming and the customers happy. We present the following evidence:

Customer inhaling deeply, spinning slowly around with a big smile on his face: "It smells like a library in here, I love it ..."

Happy customer with a purchase in his hands: "This is so great for retail therapy - it's hard to find places you can do that anymore, Thank you ..."
