If your card was suddenly rejected while checking-out and you see "your privilege has expired" or "patron not found" on the computer screen, do not be alarmed or aggravated. Your library card simply needs to be renewed.
To avoid this surprise, you may proactively check the status of your card and choose to renew online. At the Library, it takes only a few minutes of interaction with friendly library staff at the help desk to quickly renew your card for another two years.
Your card will not be replaced. That's good news for those of you who are nostalgically attached to your decade(s) old card and whose finger muscles remember your card number. HOWEVER, if you want a new card, you will also need to accept a new library card number and select from one of four new card designs! |
